Since November 2020, HES has partnered with CAPAC, one of the state-of-the-art packhouses of a vertically integrated fruit producer and supplier, to reduce electricity costs and improve energy efficiency.
Installed an advanced smart meter to provide detailed insight into CAPAC’s consumption patterns and identify high-cost areas.
Assessed and prioritised opportunities to reduce electricity use in compressed air systems, refrigeration, and lighting.
Specified, tendered, and oversaw the installation and commissioning of a 240 kW inverter system with 350 kWp of PV panels.
Designed and supported procurement, installation, and commissioning of a 350 kW inverter system with 495 kWp of PV panels and 120 kWh of battery storage.
Both solar investments were implemented under Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with Energy Partners Power, with HES serving as the engineering consultant throughout.
HES’s partnership with CAPAC has empowered the client to manage escalating electricity costs and enhance operational resilience. CAPAC’s management team commends HES’s practical, transparent, and results-driven approach.
Following this success, CAPAC’s joint owners have engaged HES to provide energy management and solar advisory services at another of their facilities — ARISA Packhouse in Swellendam.
