Building on Success to Enhance Energy Efficiency

Since April 2021, HES has partnered with ARISA, another state-of-the-art packhouse under the same ownership group, to continue reducing electricity costs and improving energy efficiency.

Our Support and Achievements

Smart Metering & Energy Profiling Installed

advanced metering to gain insight into ARISA’s electricity use and load patterns.

Electricity Supply Upgrade Advisory

Conducted a detailed analysis of Eskom’s proposed supply expansion. HES’s business case review revealed the upgrade would not achieve an adequate return on investment, helping the client avoid unnecessary capital expenditure.

PV Solar System – Phase 1

Specified, tendered, and oversaw the installation and commissioning of a 350 kW inverter system with 495 kWp of PV panels.

Generated over R400 000 in savings to date.
Successfully registered as a Small-Scale Embedded Generator (SSEG) with Eskom, including export approval.
Implemented under a PPA with Energy Partners Power, with HES as the Engineering Consultant.

PV Solar System – Phase 2 (In Progress)

Currently supporting the design and planning of a 150 kW inverter system with 215 kWp of PV panels.

SSEG application submitted to Eskom and approval in principle expected soon.
Will further reduce energy costs, improve load management, and enhance energy independence.

Results & Client Impact

ARISA’s collaboration with HES has resulted in improved cost control, operational resilience, and energy efficiency. The ARISA management team has commended HES’s practical, transparent, and partnership-based approach.

Building on these successes, ANB Investments has engaged HES to extend energy management and advisory services to their other packhouses in Limpopo and Mpumalanga.
